Geiranger Highlight

I would 100% recommend Iggy as a tour guide. He was prompt, mindful, funny, VERY knowledgable. He knew when tour buses would be at particular stops and rerouted us to see something else first. The four of us requested to go on hikes and he picked great ones with the type of shoes we wore. Lunch spots he picked were amazing.

Iggy was awesome on the tour. He met us in Geiranger for an all day adventure through the mountains and beautiful Fjords. He ensured that we saw as much as possible and was great at working through weather challenges as well as avoiding the crowds. He was also great with me for making sure to stop where I could get some great images with my camera. He has a ton of energy and that was awesome. His english was excellent equaled by his knowledge for the area.

Very informative and friendly We went to see waterfalls and canyons. Plenty of Trolls 🙂 Stopped for lunch at great little bakery and sat at the merger of 3 fjords outside at a picnic table.

Tripadvisor review: Private tour from Alesund to Geiranger up to 15 people We had originally hoped to take the ferry from Alesund to Geiranger, but it was not available during our visit to Norway. We looked at taking a short fjord cruise out of Alesund, but it did not go very far into the fjord. We could have rented a car, but the price and stress levels would have been high.
Luckily we found this guided tour given by Igvars. This was without a doubt the best guided tour we have ever had. We have used a number of other private guides on trips we planned ourselves, but none of the other guides were so thoughtful, enthusiastic and pleasant. Igvars watched over us like a parent, shielded us from crowds, provided snacks and advised us regarding how to see the best sights.
I had feared that a driving tour of Geiranger Fjord would only let us see the fjord from on high. Igvars planned a route that involved multiple short ferry rides through the beautiful parts of the fjord. As a result, we saw the fjord from both the water and on high.
In short, Geiranger Fjord was the most beautiful fjord we visited in Norway, and Igvar’s tour was the best guided tour we have ever had. My wife and I both felt that this was tour was well worth its price.

The BEST! Waterfalls, ferries, mountain tops, amazing views… and oh those strawberries! What a trip — in every sense of the word! We booked our day with Calm Giant tours with Igvars online last July. We exchanged a few emails discussing what we wanted to see and experience. Igvars was full of great ideas and planned the day perfectly. Because there weren’t a ton of reviews I was not 100% certain what the day would bring, but I was hopeful. Well, I could not have dreamt up a more perfect experience. The day with Igvars was our very favorite day of the entire vacation. It was a full day of FUN! Igvars is a joy and a truly lovely guy. He goes out of his way to make sure his clients are happy and have the best time. This is not your “run of the mill” tour. If you want something special and memorable, don’t hesitate to book with Igvars. You will be so glad you did!!!

Wonderful family day with Igvars. We were so fortunate to stumble upon Igvars last summer (June). We had a day in Alessund on our ship’s itinerary and did not want to board a bus with the masses for a tour. With three young children, we had a short kayak trip that we realized would not fill our day. We called Igvars from our ship and were so lucky to find him available!! We spent 4-5 hours with him, he picked us up straight away from kayaking and off we went on an adventure to Trollstigen. We made several stops along the way to scenic points that we would not have found on our own. It felt like places only a local would know. He was so gracious and patient with our kids (11,9 and 6) and he was so informative. And let me bend his ear asking him so many questions- we all learned so much! It was so nice to see Alessund from a local perspective. He made us a tasty snack while we went to the lookout points and stopped wherever we wanted for pictures along the way. This part of the world is quite breathtaking and we will remember our day with Igvars fondly!

Definitely one of the best tours taken, Igvars is extremely intelligent, funny and flexible. He had made his way out for us to enjoy the tours and have gone the extra miles to conduct last minute changes in order to suite our needs, if you are traveling to Norway, Igvars without question is the first choice to consider.

To be honnest the better guide i have ever had in my life.
At the beginning we were only supposed to stay at his house to sleep, but seeing we were in a bad situation for the end of our trip, he drived us until Geyranger and took his time to make this trip the best possible.
I’ll never forget him.

Igvars is totally the best guide i have ever experienced. He is very sensitive and feels people and situation, so his company is like a guaranty for an awesome trip in one of the most beautiful places on our planet. He really knows the special places in Norway to bring people. You’ll not run from one place to another, with this fantastic guide you’ll enjoy silence, hills, climbing, sunsets, ohh, what ever you prefer – he will lead you to get the best from your trip.
And when a person loves his job, you can certainly feel it. I recommend Calm Giant Tour from all my heart.

Trip has been amazing and perfect because of Igvars.  He drove us to Geyranger and he spent the day with us. And that was amazing because that could have been awful, having a day with someone you dont know but no. He was just like if we knew exh other for a long time, a day with friends, laughing, having fun, discoveribg the world.. Yes It was just perfect. A great person.. Because there is no real word to describle what i would like to say !

Igvars was really fantastic in every way. Communication with him was very easy, the location was right where you want to be, and the apartment was nice. Igvars clearly knows his stuff about his city and Norway in general, so was able to offer very good suggestions for us. He recommended a few great hikes just minutes from the city that became the highlights of our stay in Norway. Throughout our trip, we kept many of his suggestions in mind, from which roads to take, which ferries to avoid, to which viewpoints to check out, and they all turned out to be fantastic.
